WHO IS NAZEER KAHUT

Nazeer Kahut is the Founder of Punjabi Language Movement and The Resistance Movement against division of Punjab

  • Chaudhry Nazeer Kahut, born on December 26, 1956, in a remote village called Dhudhian ,  situated on the banks of the river Hydespius (Jhelum) in Shahpur/Sargodah/Punjab, is the founder and convener of the Punjabi Language Movement (Punjabi Zaban Tehreek) and several other nationalist Punjabi political
organizations., a Punjabi rights movement struggling to have Punjabi declared and enforced as the medium of instruction, as well as the official, judicial, and parliamentary language of Punjab.
  • On March 29, 1990, while living in Karachi (Sindh), Nazeer Kahut launched the Karachi-based "Lok Seva Pakistan," a nationalist Punjabi rights organization, dedicated to uniting Punjabis and defending and upholding Punjabi rights both in Karachi (Sindh) and Punjab. While issuing the policy statement, Kahut stressed his four-point Punjabi nationalist agenda and vowed to: (1) resist division of motherland
Punjab, whether linguistic or administrative; (b) fight for the rights of Punjabis living in Karachi, interior Sindh, and Punjab; and (c) do whatever is possible through peaceful means to have Punjabi declared as the medium of instruction as well as the sole official, judicial, and parliamentary language of the province of Punjab.
  • On October 6, 1994, Chaudhry Nazeer Kahut, President of Lok Seva Pakistan, while addressing a press conference at the Lahore Press Club, announced the launch of a movement to resist the division of Punjab, saying that the division of Punjab, be it administrative or linguistic, is absolutely unacceptable and will be fiercely resisted with full force no matter what the cost may be.
  • Nazeer Kahut became the first ever Punjabi nationalist in the known history of Punjab (Pakistan) who, to raise his voice against the criminalized, ill intended, unconstitutional, and illegal division of Punjab, launched Lok Seva, a movement in 1990 generally known as Punjab Bachao Tehreek (Save Punjab Movement), to save Punjab from further disintegration and to resist the division of Punjab. According to Kahut, Punjab is the ancestral home of present and future Punjabi generations. Punjab has existed as an inseparable ethnic, linguistic, cultural, administrative, geographical, and national entity for generations. At all costs, Punjabs integrity  and unity will be safeguarded and upheld.
  • “Lok Seva” launched in 1990 has been considered the first ever politically active Punjabi Nationalist organization in the recorded history of Punjab.(All of the activates of the organizations are all reported, recorded and preserved in Karachi’s Dawn, Jang, Nawaewaqt and other Urdu and English newspapers).
  • As its editor and publisher, Kahut began publishing the first-ever trilingual newsmagazine in Punjabi, Urdu, English, and English monthly “The Genius” from Karachi in 1992 to further the Punjabi cause and the Punjabi Movement among Punjabis.
  • For the first time, modern Punjabi nationalism and the ideology of the Punjabi Nationalist Movement were clearly defined, expressed in a systematic and scientific manner, and presented in their true spirit in Aao Punjabi Ko Qatel Kerain, a research and reference book written by Nazeer Kahut and published for Karachi in 1992.
  • Nazeer Kahut established the Punjabi Rights Movement on social media in 2008, making him the first ever nationalist Punjabi to do so. At the time, no Punjabi would have dared to express their views on the division of Punjab, in favor of the rights of the Punjabi language, or against Urdu on social media. Kahut was threatened ,harassed and abused by several fake Punjabi IDs created by some treacherous pseudo-Punjabi intellectuals, NGOs, and vested interests back in 2014 on social media, as they were supporters of Urdu in Punjab and were in line with the official policy to divide Punjab and promote dialects of Punjabi as independent languages. As soon as Kahut started speaking out for Punjabi causes on social media, he became the target and victim of fake Punjabis and vested interests, both directly and indirectly. The fake Punjabis  IDs involved in Kahuts character assassination and in spreading disinformation against him are active on social media to date. None of these traitors, vested interests, fifth columnists and anti-Punjab gangs , however, were able to overthrow or alter Kahuts national narrative of Punjab and the Punjabi movement, which he introduced and actively promoted for forty years and of which he is the sole founder. No power on earth could deter him from preaching, advocating, or supporting the Punjabi movement and Punjab’s national narrative.
  •  Nazeer Kahut, having moved back from Canada to Lahore in 2009, organized the first ever Punjabi National Conference  on August 8, 2009, to organize Punjabis to defend the integrity and solidarity of motherland Punjab and to fight the imperialist and evil forces conspiring to divide Punjab under the self-created pseudo- nationalities, languages, and cultures. In the first ever political move  under the auspices of the Punjabi Conference meant to oppose the division of Punjab  a large number of Punjabi activists, nationalists, and writers, including Shafqat Tanveer Mirza and Fakher Zaman, participated The Conference condemned the attempts to divide Punjab and adapted resolutions asking the federal and Punjab governments to withdraw all the resolutions introduced in the Punjab Assembly, National Assembly, and Senate to divide Punjab further under any pretext.
  • On August 8, 2010, a Second Punjabi National Conference was held in Lahore, once again demanding that the PPP, PTI, PML-N, Punjab Assembly, National Assembly, and Senate of Pakistan withdraw the illegal, unconstitutional resolutions intended to criminally divide Punjab.
  • Nazeer Kahut is the sole Punjabi activist who put in the effort over the course of four decades to transform the Lahore based dead, confused, mislead poetry-reciting, opportunist, job-seeking, and government- sponsored cultural platform hijacked by foreign funded Lahore based anti Punjab and anit Punjabi foreign funded NGO’s into a vibrant, outspoken, political, and global movement.

Nazeer Kahut stated on social media on August 14, 2018, that the Punjabi Language Movement and Punjab Bachao Tehreek will observe August 15–17 as Punjab Maryers Day every year. The statement followed the Punjab government refusal to erect a monument in memory of the one million unnamed, innocent Punjabis who were mercilessly slaughtered during the bloody partition of Punjab.
  • The Punjabi Language Movement will also observe March 29 as the Black Day of Punjab, Kahut proclaimed. After having annexed Punjab on 29 March 1849 East India Company began burning Punjabi language books all over Punjab, banned mother tongue education in Punjab, and imposed an alien language, Urdu, as a medium of instruction and Punjab’s official language along with English. Which is inhuman act ,completely illegal, unconstitutional and absolutely not acceptable.
  • Punjabi Language Movement(PLM) will observe 16 November as the Killer Day of Punjabi Language all over Punjab and around the globe to protest against the adaptation of the so-called Urdu Language Act 2022, passed by the Punjab Assembly on November 16, 2022, illegally and unconstitutionally declaring an alien language as Punjab’s official, national, and educational language instead of Punjabi.
